Concert For Billie

Billie Holiday Clayton was killed in a terrible canoeing accident in 2006, Ian and Heather lost a beautiful and talented daughter and Edward lost his twin sister.  In the immediate aftermath a trust was established called Billie’s Violin.  Billie had been a budding violinist. A concert is held annually in a school hall in Featherstone to raise funds to buy musical instruments for local junior school children. Billie will never realise her ambition of playing her violin at Cambridge Folk Festival, but a kid from the neighbourhood might do it for her.

Play the video above for a selection of recordings made at the concerts: it includes performances from Billie’s twin brother Edward over the years, plus guest performances from Iain Matthews, Richard Hawley, Steve Huison and Fiona-Katie Roberts.
